Karl Valois BS, MA, PhD, Department Chairperson

Dr. Valois has served as chairman of the department since 1978 and also teaches at the University of Connecticut. He was awarded a fellowship at Yale University and earned a doctorate in History at the University of Connecticut. He has appeared on radio and television, published more than two dozen articles, and has edited two books on European history. He recently published two works, The Korean War and The Cuban Missile Crisis, and is currently working on a college-level textbook on American history.
He teaches sophomore American History and the college-level America course.

Trina Bowman

Thomas Collins

Mr.Collins has been a member of the department since 1977. Although his specialty is European History, he has also taught Current Events, American Government, and U.S. Foreign Policy. He teaches the AP European History course.
Mr. Collins is the moderator for National Honor Society and is also the Golf team coach.

Jeff Vingo, B.S., M.A.

Mr. Vingo has been a member of the Social Studies department since 1993. He has attended a number of teachers’ seminars funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, including those held at Trinity College, Fordham University, Ramapo College, and the University of Virginia.
He teaches American History, Sociology, and International Relations, and Model UN, in addition to the AP U.S. History course.
