Welcome, Class of 2014!I am so happy that you are joining the community of St. Joseph High School. Your class is made up of 215 members, coming from 22 different towns, including 1 town in New Hampshire and 1 in Massachusetts. Students are coming from 46 different schools; 19 of these are Catholic schools and 27 are public or private schools. One student has been home-schooled. So don’t feel like you’re the only one who doesn’t know anyone yet – after the first few weeks, you’ll know many of your classmates! We have several events planned to make you feel more at home and familiar with the school and the members of the freshman class. The first day of school is Wednesday, September 1st. It’s a full day from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The only students here will be the freshmen and members of the Student Council and Student Ambassadors. They will be here to help you with the rotating schedule and to help you find your way around the building and the campus. On Friday, September 10th, the Freshman Social will take place in the gym from 7:30 to 10:00 PM. It’s a dance just for freshmen and seniors. It’s the upperclassman’s way of welcoming you into the community. On Sunday, September 12th, the New Student Bible Mass and Brunch will be hosted by our Parent Association. It will start at 9:30 AM and is for all freshman and transfer students and their families. And the Freshmen Class Trip is scheduled for October 17th and 18th. So, don’t be nervous! (I know; that’s easy for me to say!). We’ll try our hardest to make you feel comfortable. All you need to do is show up and be friendly. Before long, you’ll be familiar with, and feel comfortable at, St. Joe’s! Peggy
