Welcome!
The Department of College and Guidance Counseling at St. Joseph High School includes a professional staff of experienced counselors dedicated to the college, career, and personal needs of our students. Counselors also work closely with administration, faculty, and parents to provide a supportive environment for all students. Topics for the meetings can include:
- Advice and counseling in all phases of the college admission process
- Dissemination of information of standardized tests (PSAT, SAT I and II, ACT, etc.)
- Instruction in our computerized college and career search program, Naviance, and other internet resources
- Programs for parents and students such as our evening programs on the college process, the annual college fair, and speakers on financial aid and scholarships, etc.
- Support and guidance for students in problem solving, relationship building, conflict resolution, self-esteem, and self-confidence skills
- Help for students in monitoring their academic progress
