Since its launch, our Freshman Success Program has become a hallmark of St. Joseph High School, providing a proven, effective pathway for incoming students to seamlessly transition from middle school into our vibrant community. This comprehensive program is led by two dedicated School Counselors and a team of committed SJ staff members who guide and support our newest Cadets throughout their pivotal first year. With a diverse freshman class hailing from 34 towns and 50 middle schools, our program ensures that every student is empowered to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
The Freshman Success Program is a cornerstone of our Strategic Educational Programming Priorities, specifically designed to enhance our Four-Year College Initiatives. Through a curriculum focused on academic empowerment, resiliency, executive functioning skills, and personal responsibility, we equip our freshmen with the tools they need for success. Regular academic guidance, engaging workshops, inspiring speakers, and hands-on service opportunities are all integral parts of the program. Our newest Cadets benefit from increased access to school resources, stronger connections to the community, and a multitude of opportunities for involvement across all school departments.
The Freshman Success Program doesn’t just prepare students for high school—it sets the foundation for their entire educational journey at St. Joes, helping them discover their unique aptitudes and passions while fostering a lifelong commitment to excellence.
