Business & Innovation Pathway
St. Joseph High School’s Pathways Program will enable students to enhance their transcript with courses specifically tailored toward their future career goals. St. Joes will offer two inaugural pathways: Healthcare Science and Business & Innovation.
COLLEGE PREP AT THE NEXT LEVEL:
- Pathways completion is open to students in the Class of 2029 and on.
- Pathways are a four-year program that will fit seamlessly into a Cadets’ schedule -- alowing student to choose the courses that best align with their specific college or career goals.
- Upon completion, students will earn a unique distinction on their transcript .
The Engineering Innovation and Design Programs at St. Joseph High School encourage students to explore, research, and use tools to uncover or build something new. These courses are not just for the mathematically talented! Each course enhances student creativity, communication, and analytical problem solving skills. Cadets take advantage of ever-advancing technology in six Engineering Innovation and Design courses which inspire technology-centered, hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Students will have consistent opportunities to use design mindset, learn collaboratively, practice task-management, and cultivate teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
BUSINESS & INNOVATION CLUBS
Stock Market & Entrepreneurship Club
The Stock Market and Entrepreneurship Club - where students gather to discuss and learn about financial markets, investing, trends, business, and technology.
Aviation Club
Aviation Club is a student-led organization dedicated to exploring the exciting world of aviation. We cover a wide range of topics, including aviation history, famous pilots, aircraft systems, rocketry and opportunities in the industry. The club also stays up to date on aviation news, such as advancements in technology and aviation systems. Our meetings include discussions, presentations, and hands-on learning experiences, making it a great place for students passionate about flying, aerospace engineering, or simply learning more about the skies.
CHOOSING THEIR OWN PATH
Unlike many schools which use a “one size fits all” curriculum until senior year, we give students opportunities to tailor their courses to their interests in science .
All students must take Engineering Design Lab as freshmen. After completing these pre-requisites, students can choose business & innovation electives throughout our business, technology, math, or social studies departments.

Internship Requirement
In order to complete the Business & Innovation Pathway, students must also complete an Internship during the spring semester of their senior year.
- This internship must take place at least two times per week during April through Mid-May
- Students will be granted permission to attend classes in the morning and then leave campus to attend their internship.
- Internships must be pre-approved and will require adult supervision on sit at all times
- SJ's Office of Advancement & Alumni Affairs will assist with internship placement.

In addition to the courses on the left, it is recommended that students:
- Join one of our Business or Math Clubs - or start a new one!
- Consider taking Mandarin as a language course
- Take summer courses in order to ensure their schedule allows for all of the pathway courses they wish to take.
