Lisa Lambert

“During the high school search process, we visited several private high schools in both Fairfield and New Haven counties and selecting St. Joseph High School was one of the best decisions our family has ever made! The community feel of engaged and friendly students, leadership and staff was evident from the first visit. We feel blessed that our son has flourished over his 4 years at SJ thanks to the opportunity to take a very challenging course load with many honors and AP courses available each year, to continue to grow in his Catholic faith, to be involved in the community, to develop new friendships, to feel supported and safe every day, to have leadership opportunities through athletic teams and to celebrate school traditions making great memories that will last a lifetime. The SJ leadership, faculty and coaches truly know every student and foster an environment of humility and care for others above self. We are so proud and thankful to be part of this exceptional SJ Family." "Lisa Lambert P'24

Freshman Course Placement

Freshman course placement is based on a holistic application review (transcripts, exam score, recommendations, etc.).  Dynamic placement is implemented for each student. Your student will be placed in college preparatory and honors courses according to their individual qualifications.

Additionally, St. Joes does not adhere to course "tracks" (i.e. Honors Program, College Prep Program). This process allows for differentiation of courses according to your students' specific future goals while ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity for an appropriate challenge.  SJ Cadets are also given the opportunity to change course levels each year with appropriate credentials.

For specific questions about your student's course placement, contact our Admissions Team.
