11/01/2022

The Varsity squad competed in the FCIAC Trials held at Greenwich HS. Some call this the fastest meet of the season and the swimmers did not disappoint! The Cadets led off with the 200 Medley Relay and toppled the school record with a 1:55.33! Congrats to Abby Hanson, Dani Tanaka Sales (C), Nadia Millott and Emmy Beach on the great swim!!! Personal best times were attained by Sophia Palacio in the 100 and 200 Freestyle while Hanson and Millott also posted top times for the season! The girls return to GHS on Friday 11/04 to compete in the FCIAC Finals where the top 16 seeds from Trials will duke it out for the top spot! Then on the STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

The JV Cadets traveled to Greenwich to compete in the FCIAC Championships! The meet was filled with personal best times and spectacular races. A big congratulations to the 400 Freestyle Relay comprised of Sophia Manzella, Kelly Wu, Roselah Masbad and Ali Calandro! The relay won their final heat of the championships, while dropping 15 seconds! Congrats to all the JV FCIAC swimmers (S. Alves-C, A. Smith, R. Kirn, J. Maconachie, A. Scheau, & R. Parikh).
 
Friday 10/21/22
The Cadets hosted a fired up Ludlowe squad for Senior night last Friday!  The meet started with a barn-burner between ‘Freshman Phenom,’ Emmy Beach and Ludlowe’s top 200 Freestyler.  While Beach was touched out at the finish, Captain Dani Tanaka Sales followed up the event with a win in the 200 Individual Medley!  Tanaka Sales went on to win the 100 Breaststroke and was then joined by Beach, Sophia Palacio and Captain Sophie Sergiyenko to win the final 400 Freestyle Relay!  
 
A big congrats to our Seniors: Steph Alves(C), Bella Corona (Mgr), Abby Hanson, Sophie Sergiyenko(C), Anna Smith, Emily Sudol and Dani Tanaka Sales(C)!
 
The Cadets are moving on to the FCIAC Championships this week!

10/12/22
The SJ Girls swim team travelled to WCSU to take on rival Danbury for a late Wednesday meet.  The Cadets came to swim and pulled off a 1-2 finish in the opening medley relay!  With the pool buzzing, Captain Dani Tanaka Sales followed up with a decisive win in the 200 free.  The sprinters didn’t let up with a 1-2-3 Cadet sweep in the 50 free!  Beach, Hanson and Palacio gave the Cadets a 13-3 edge over Danbury. 
The momentum continued in the second half with another sweep in the 100 free by Millott, Calandro and Manzella!  Emmy Beach took the distance event while Sergiyenko, Hanson, Millott and Tanaka Sales won the 200 free relay.  Wins by Abby Hanson (100 Back) and Captain Sophie Sergiyenko (100 Breastroke), secured enough points to win 91-70.  Go Cadets!
 
10/7/22
The Cadet swimmers took on a strong New Canaan squad on Friday afternoon.  The SJ girls opened with an exciting win with Hanson, Tanaka Sales, Millott and Sergiyenko taking the medley relay.  Emmy Beach and Captain Dani Tanaka Sales went on to win the 200 free and 50 free, respectively.  Devon Emmet put up a great showing on the board and the Cadets were back at it!  SJ secured wins in the 100 and 500 free by Tanaka Sales and Beach but New Canaan prevailed 96-83. 
 
9/28/22
The Cadets swam cross-town rival Trumbull in a great match-up at the University of Bridgeport.  The SJ medley relay came out of the gates with a win and new school record!  Congratulations to Abby Hanson, Dani Tanaka Sales, Nadia Millott and Emmy Beach!  While Trumbull’s depth prevailed, SJ beamed with wins from Captain Dani Tanaka Sales and Freshman Emmy Beach.
