Mercy Learning Center
Mary O’Keefe Butala ’78 P’10, ’16 serves on the Board at MLC, and is passionate about their mission: “I’ve been working with the Mercy Learning Center over the past 15 years in various capacities and my father was an avid supporter since the Sisters of Mercy started the Mercy Learning Center in 1987. This is an organization that has been supporting mothers in the greater Bridgeport area for over 30 years, providing them with educational opportunities, and helping serve their families.”
Mercy Learning Center (MLC), located in the south end of Bridgeport is a non-profit that has been helping women find their voices for over 30 years. Their mission is to provide basic literacy and life skills training to low-income women using a holistic approach within a compassionate, supportive environment. They offer a range of flexible programs to meet the needs of their diverse students. Part-time and full-time academic programs are offered at the Center along with a range of support services at no cost to the women they serve.
In this time of great need, they continue to support these women and are seeking assistance to keep their food pantry stocked. Please consider supporting Mercy Learning Center’s food pantry and other outreach programs that are helping families during this crisis.
