We are thrilled to welcome a new (and familiar) face to St Joseph High School! As many of you know, our former Dean of Students, Martin Dempsey '01 has decided to step back into the classroom. He will also continue his role as Director of Extracurricular Activities.
We are proud to announce that our new Dean of Student Life will be Margo Sheehan '09. Ms Sheehan is a St Joes alum and comes to us from Sacred Heart University where she served as the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions. Read more about Dean Sheehan below!
Tell us about yourself!
I was born and raised in CT. I have an older sister and a younger brother, and they're both SJ grads and live in CT as well. My family is very important to me and they always come first. I went to Providence College for my BA in Social Work and Master of Education in Counseling. I've worked in high schools and on college campuses in my professional career in a variety of positions, such as teaching, college admissions, and college counseling. I love to read, kick-box, listen to music, do puzzles, travel, and spend time with my family and friends in my spare time.
What makes you most excited about working at St Joes?
I'm most excited to be back and a part of the amazing growth that's been happening since I was a student here. I really love working with high school students, so I'm most looking forward to getting to know the students.
What is your favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory...it's probably a tie between the trip to France and Italy my senior year and the junior trip to Quebec when we went tubing with some of the teachers. Both were a blast, and I'm still best friends with the students who went on those trips with me.
Anything you want to add?
I'm here for the students and their families. I'm happy to help you enjoy your time here at SJ however I can. Make sure you know the rules in the handbook...and follow them!
