DRIVING TO ST JOES: 
Many of our students are dropped off and picked up each day. St Joes encourages families to join our private carpool system.

ST JOE'S CARPOOL DATABASE: 
As a resource for our families, St Joes facilitates the creation of a contact list for those who desire to obtain or offer carpool transportation. Click here to learn more and add your name to the carpool list!

PARKING ON CAMPUS:
Faculty and staff, as well as 11th and 12th grade students who complete a Parking Application and Agreement, are assigned a parking space on campus for the year. For questions and information, please contact Victoria Russell at vrussell@sjcadets.org or (203) 378-9378.

BUS ROUTES:
We offer 4 bus routes (including Trumbull town bus). Stops, pick-up and drop-off times will be modified to accommodate traffic conditions and demand. Transportation will be available each morning with a return bus service leaving SJHS at 3:00pm. Please note: a bus route's availability is contingent on the amount of registrations by families for the start of the school year.

PRE-REGISTRATION:
Required. A $600 Fee is payable in advance per semester, and is separate from tuition. Note: Students who choose to take the train to the Fairfield Metro stop will have the price of their train ticket deducted from their bus fee. Register via the form below.

AFTER SCHOOL OPTION:
Late bus service leaves St Joes at 5:15pm for Fairfield Metro North train station and Stratford Train Station.  The O'Keefe Media Center will remain open for students until 5:30pm.

FAIRFIELD METRO STATION:

St Joes is proud to offer a Fairfield bus stop at the Fairfield Metro train station.  This location best serves all those interested in taking the train from all points along the Metro North New Haven line. The pickup/dropoff times will be coordinated with the train schedule. 

Students not using the train are also welcome to catch the bus at the Fairfield Metro stop. The one stop ensures multiple students on the bus at all times.  For safety reasons, and in adherence to Diocesan policies, there is never to be just one student on the bus at any time and SJHS is not comfortable with single students being left at a stop. We believe this is the safest response to accommodate our families transportation needs.

1. Cars must be kept locked at all times. St Joseph High School is not responsible for any theft or damaged incurred while parked on our grounds.
    
2. Lost parking passes will be replaced for a $5 fee.
    
3. No motorcycles, motor-scooters, mopeds etc., or heavy trucks are to be parked on school grounds.
    
4. Students may park in the following areas: gravel parking lot, top of the hill, the side parking lot next to the girls’ locker room and the crescent lot adjacent to the gravel lot. There is no student parking in the front faculty lot, the circle in front of the school or in the lot immediately behind the gym.
    
5. Students parking in the paved lots must park within the painted lines. Students may not “create” their own spaces or rows by parking in areas that do not have clearly marked lines.
    
6. All traffic and parking signs must be adhered to by student drivers.
    
7. No loitering in or around cars.
    
8. No smoking in cars.
    
9. Reckless driving or fooling in or around cars will not be tolerated.
    
10. The speed limit on campus is 5 MPH.
     
11. Students may not go to their cars for any reason during the school day without permission from a school administrator.
     
12. Vehicles parked on school grounds or a school sponsored event are subject to search by the Administration

1. School Ticket – Drivers who park illegally or without a parking pass may be issued a school fine of $10 for the first offense. Any subsequent offenses may result in a $20 fine. Failure to pay the fine in a timely manner may result in the student being placed on disciplinary probation during which time they will not be able to participate in any extracurricular activities or sports. Delinquent fines may be reported to the Finance Office and failure to pay them may subject the student to financial holds on report cards, exams and transcripts. Parents will also be notified of these fines. Continual violation of the parking regulations may result in the revocation of the student’s parking pass (see below).
    
2. Revocation of parking pass – Any student violating the speed limit, behaving carelessly or recklessly with cars, or continually violating the parking regulations may have their pass revoked for a period of time (including the remainder of the school year) determined by the Administration. If driving permission has been revoked, the student may not drive to school or park on campus at any time, including during after school hours or on-campus events. In addition to having their parking pass revoked, students may also face additional consequences from the school or local authorities if necessary.
    
3. Towing / Town Ticket – Cars parked in fire lanes, handicap spaces or in violation of town laws may be subject to ticketing from the local police department or towing (at the owner’s expense). The school is not required to notify any student in violation of these municipal laws and the consequences they carry. Students in violation of these laws may also face additional consequences from the school.

Disclaimer, Consent and Release

By facilitating the creation and dissemination of a Car Pool List, neither St Joseph High School nor the Diocese of Bridgeport are offering a car pool service, but are instead making available a potential resource for our students and their families. It is therefore left to each participant in any car pool arising from the Car Pool List to make an independent assessment of the appropriateness and safety of participating in such a car pool.

Neither St Joseph High School nor the Diocese of Bridgeport are responsible for ensuring the qualifications, competency, training, licensing, driving record, driving habits or insurance coverage of any drivers or chaperones identified on the Car Pool List.

Neither St Joseph High School nor the Diocese of Bridgeport are responsible for ensuring that vehicles of participants are roadworthy or properly insured. St Joseph High School and the Diocese of Bridgeport expressly represent that compliance with the Diocesan Virtus program is not a condition of inclusion on the Car Pool List and therefore they are not responsible for ensuring that any drivers or chaperones identified on the Car Pool List have undergone Virtus training and have consented to these protocols. In addition, please read carefully the following consent, disclaimer and release before applying for inclusion on the Car Pool List. 

The adult completing the carpool request form acknowledges, on their own behalf ad on behalf of the minor child that there are risks he or she voluntarily assumes in participating in a car pool, some of which are referred to in this document. Neither St Joseph High School nor the Diocese of Bridgeport assumes any liability whatsoever in connection with any car pool arising from the Car Pool List.

The adult completing the carpool request form, on their own behalf and on behalf of the minor child, releases St Joseph high School and the Diocese of Bridgeport form all liability for loss or damage to any vehicle and/or its contents, or for injury to or death of any person, which arises in the course of, or in connection with, or as a result of any car pool arising from the Car Pool List including, without limitation, vehicle accidents, driving infractions and incidents involving car pool participants.
