It's official, welcome to the family! This page is your "one-stop-shop" for new transfer student planning. Below you'll find enrollment documents, important event dates and a new student checklist for you to follow as you prepare for your first day at SJ!

Special Events for Transfer Students

Save the dates below for onboarding events for new students! It is our goal to connect you with our campus and community before your first day of school. We can't wait to see you at our next event: New Student & Parent Orientation in May.

Uniform Swap (Optional)

Uniform Swap: Our senior class has donated many gently used, laundered uniform items to any student who may be interested. We will have a “swap shop” setup at school on two dates below for any student or parent who would like to pick up uniform items for free!

No registration needed. Since the uniform swap items are donated, we cannot guarantee sizes or inventory. Details regarding safety and location specifications (within the SJHS campus) will be communicated as each date nears.

August Orientation & School Start Dates

Get out your schedule and mark your calendars, the first day of school will be here before you know it! Orientation dates are mandatory and are important opportunities for students to learn campus logistics before their first academic day.

- August 29, 2022 - International Student Orientation (for new international students only)
- August 30, 2022 - No school for students, professional development.
- August 31, 2022 from 7:55am-12:00pm - Freshman, International and Transfer Student Orientation
- September 1, 2022 from 7:55am-12:00pm- Freshman and Sophomore Orientation
  - Freshmen will receive their full schedule this day and take their school photo
- September 2, 2022 from 7:55am-12:00pm (Seniors arrive at 9:00am) - Junior and Senior Orientation. Freshmen and Sophomore students do not attend school.
- September 5, 2022 - Labor Day (School Closed)
- September 6, 2022 - First Full Day of School (7:55am-2:15pm)

Payment Options

Tuition Timeline

The tuition for 2022-2023 school year will be finalized in late March. Our Board of Directors carefully considers all variables affecting our operating necessities and economic pressures felt by all. Tuition is all-inclusive of textbooks, activities, and most fees.

When tuition is announced in early April, you will receive a personalized tuition agreement in the mail. Your agreement is personalized and will reflect your enrollment deposit paid as well as financial aid or scholarships that may apply.

Please return your tuition agreement by the first week of May to indicate which payment option you would like to utilize. The first payment for all payment options is due in June.

Payment Options

SJ offers families three payment options. You may select your payment plan by returning your tuition agreement to the Bursar's Office in May. Your first tuition payment will be due June 1, 2022.

Option 1) Payment in full (June)

Option 2) Payment by semester (June and December)

Option 3) 11-month payment plan through Union Savings Bank start date is in June (June-April 2023)

School Supplies & Lunch Payment Options

Learning Device

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to SJ

Every student is required to bring a device designated for learning to school (charged) each day. If you already have a learning device, you do not have to purchase a new one. However, every device brought in to be used at St Joseph must comply with our BYOD and acceptable use policies.

Smartphones of any kind will not be recognized as acceptable educational devices. Amazon Kindle tablets are also not recommended. Please review the school guidelines to make sure your educational device complies with our BYOD recommendations.

SJ Student email addresses and student/parent accounts are being developed now and user instructions will be sent to you in May.

School Supplies

St Joes does not have, or provide a school supply list.

We suggest that students continue to use the note-taking and organizational system that is currently working for them (binders/notebooks and folders, etc).

That said, some faculty members may suggest an organization system based on their subject-related needs. This information will be shared with students during their first days of class.

Lunch on Campus

Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase on campus daily.

SJ is catered by Catamount Catering Company; fresh options are prepared on site. SJ does not monitor allergens within the building (ex. nut-free zones), but all food is labeled should a potential allergen be present.

Lunch items range from $5-$10.

Students can purchase breakfast or lunch from our cafeteria using cash or a cashless account through “My Kids Spending.” In August we will share more information about how to set up this debit system to allow students to pay with their ID cards.

Transfer student schedules are developed after the Admission and Counseling Teams evaluate your current and past course sequence and graduation requirements. Contact the admissions team to schedule a meeting to discuss further!

Daily Academic Schedule

Academic Day - 7:55am-2:15pm
Schedule - SJ does not follow a block schedule. Instead, most classes are 50 mins/1 long period for lunch. Students attend lunch with their classmates in the course they are attending at that time. Our schedule rotates. Students will have 7 periods in a semester, but only 6 per day (one drops, then begins the next day).
Lunch - Lunch is scheduled in the middle of the day during our long period. There are four 30-minute lunch waves. A student’s assigned lunch wave will change day to day depending on the class they are in for long period. All grades are mixed for lunch.

Course Placement

At St. Joes, students are not limited to “Honors/College Prep or AP Tracks.” All students deserve an opportunity to challenge themselves where appropriate if they meet the credentials required.
Student schedules are dynamic and designed to challenge and support students according to their aptitudes. Furthermore, student interest, motivation and ability can change year to year – allowing all students an opportunity to elevate the courses they choose to take.
You will receive an initial course listing in May. Official schedules with classrooms and faculty are only available in September.

Dress to Impress

A St. Joes School Uniform is required each day beginning on August 31. Learn more about our uniform guidelines and vendors below. Don't forget to stop by our Uniform Swap for free uniform items on June 11 and August 17 (8:30am-12:00pm both dates).

St. Joseph High School Dress Code

Our gym uniform requires modest recreational clothing of choice (t-shirt, and short/pants that are comfortable).
Students may purchase their uniform items from Blake's Uniform Shop or our SJ Bookstore.
Not all uniform items are branded (skirts, pants, shoes). If you find a vendor that sells items that match the dress code requirements, feel free to shop elsewhere!

Record Release Form - (Send to Your Current High School)

Do not return this form to St. Joes. Please print, sign and submit this form to your current high school. This form allows permission for your current high school to send two important documents to St. Joes:

1. Your end of year grade transcript (after signed/stamped by the school Registrar/Guidance Director)

2. Your current physical/health records.
