Athletics at St Joseph High School
Athletic involvement presents to students unique opportunities: to build community, character, integrity, discipline, and sportsmanship. Participating in athletic programs offers our students the opportunity to develop physical and athletic skills to compete in interscholastic sports and to participate in the tradition of athletic excellence at St Joseph High School--as well as to represent our entire school community.
A Tradition of Excellence
St Joseph High School has a tradition of excellence in athletics. The school boasts over 50 conference championship banners and 50 state championship banners from over a dozen varsity team sports. Many St Joseph student-athletes have also won individual state titles in their chosen sport.
The school is a member of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) and the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC). St Joes joined the FCIAC in 1994-95 (after a one year probation period in 1993-94). Prior to the FCIAC, St Joseph was a member of the Metropolitan Bridgeport Interscholastic Athletic Conference (MBIAC) in 1970 and later joined the All Connecticut Conference (ACC) in 1985 as a founding member.
