Boys Lacrosse State Champs!

Boys Lacrosse State Champs!

Two years of close calls lit a fire under SJ's 17 seniors—and this time, they finished the job.

“No way they were getting denied,” said head coach Brendan Talbot.

The No. 2 Cadets defeated No. 1 Fairfield Ludlowe, 10-5, in the CIAC Class L final at Rafferty Stadium.

Sophomore Paul Karafa was electric, dropping four goals and two assists. Sean Archibald netted a hat trick, and senior goalie Michael Coletti was a wall—allowing just one goal after halftime.

With the win, St. Joseph also pulls off a rare double—state champs in both boys lacrosse and baseball, a feat they last accomplished in 2019.

This wasn’t luck. It was legacy. Congratulations, boys! You’ve made us all proud!
