Dani Tanaka Sales Makes Waves for Girls Swim!

Swimmer Dani Tanaka Sales doesn't care that she's only in her freshmen season, she came into the SJ Swim and Dive season on a mission to make an immediate impact. Tanaka Sales has already qualified for every event in the Class M trials and the team is only about half way through the regular season! During the program's opening meet at Shelton, she qualified in the 50m free and the 100m breaststroke while fellow freshmen Abby Hanson qualified for States in the 200m IM and 100m backstroke.

In another close meet against Staples, Tanaka Sales won the 100m freestyle with a converted time of 54.73 and also swam a qualifying time for the 100m backstroke! It has been quite a while since a swimmer at SJ has qualified for every event for a State trial. The rest of the Cadet squad swam a successful meet as well, 17 of which swam personal best times throughout the events!

In the team's most recent meet against Fairfield Warde, the freshmen broke the school record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.57! The previous record was 1:09.85 set by Katie Luchansky in 2011.
