Greetings From Our New President!

Greetings From Our New President!

1 July 2020

Dear Friends,

David J Klein

Greetings from St Joseph High School! It is with pride and humility that I officially begin my tenure today as President. I wish to extend my sincere appreciation and gratitude to the many people who have been so welcoming during this transitional period – thank you. The demonstration of trust and confidence by the Search Committee, the Board of Directors, and Bishop Caggiano is certainly humbling and not something that I take for granted. I offer a very special and heartfelt thank you to Dr Fitzgerald for making the success of St Joseph High School his life’s work for over a decade. We appreciate you - well done, Sir!

If you pay close attention, you can learn a great deal about people, communities and institutions during times of adversity and challenge. During the mandated school closure period, I witnessed the deep faith, love, respect and family commitment that constitutes and defines the St Joes community. The sincere dedication of the faculty and administration to the students, each other and their school was very impressive. I was so inspired by and proud of the students as they continued to persevere, work hard, faithfully serve the community and lovingly support one another. It was truly a gift to watch Cadets Carry On!

In the spirit of forward progress, we welcome our student-athletes back to campus next week for Phase 1 Conditioning Sessions in preparation for the fall season. The Summer Re-Opening Plans and Guidelines can be accessed here. The long awaited and very exciting gymnasium renovation project also continues to progress on schedule and final completion is on the near horizon.

Finally and most importantly, to the SJHS Senior Class, I respect and admire you. Through campus visits, attendance at school events and St Joes’ strong social media presence, I have learned what an accomplished, respectful, and kind group of people represent the Class of 2020. During this challenging and disappointing time, you have continued to conduct yourselves with great honor and, thereby, made your family, your school and the entire St Joes community extremely proud. You are an example for all of us–thank you.

It is a blessing to be part of the St Joes family. Joining and leading such a caring and loving faith-based community is a privilege that comes with great responsibility. My door will always be open to the students, my colleagues and your family. Enjoy the summer.

In Faith and Fellowship,

David J Klein
