Mock Trial Finishes #9 in CT!

Mock Trial Finishes #9 in CT!

While St. Joes Mock Trial ended their year participating in the Top 10 Round of the Connecticut Bar Association’s High School Mock Trial Tournament, they ultimately finished #9 out of 63 teams across the State of Connecticut!

This marks St. Joes Mock Trial’s best year to date under any coach, only losing to #8 South Windsor, and #5 Ludlowe both in the Second Round of Playoffs. St. Joes also had notable victories against Wilton in the preliminary round and Cheshire in the First Round of Playoffs. The team also tied (of the two judges, each team only won one ballot each) against #2 Weston in the preliminary and #6 Sheehan in the First Round of Playoffs. #2 Weston now advances to the Third Round of Playoffs/State Championship against #1 Hall later this month; the winner will be offered to represent Connecticut in the National High School Mock Trial Tournament.

Every competition team member gave their all this year to get to this point. The coaches couldn’t be prouder of this special group. The roster included:

  • Rhys Ingram (Captain)
  • Catherine Conlon (Captain)
  • Jason Wu (Captain)
  • Abigail Angier
  • Katherine Fernschild
  • Aria Chiaramonte
  • Leah Ali
  • Reese Vartelas
  • Olivia Wells
  • Meredith Malloy
  • Cora Nevard
  • Elisa Angier
  • Leila Trefz

With 7 of the 13 roster members graduating, there will be many spots to fill for the 2026-2027 team. Interested students should reach out to Attorney Kyle D. Souza at ksouza@sjcadets.org . Practices will begin in September 2026.
