New Varsity Tennis Coach!
Please join us in welcoming Coach Marcus Hooks to St Joes!
Coach Hooks was born and raised In Norwalk, CT. He played varsity tennis at Brien McMahon High School for four years and was named captain for his final two season. After high school, Coach Hooks was recruited by Bethany College in West Virginia along with a class of freshmen to rebuild their tennis program. During his 3 seasons at Bethany College he was named captain and led the team to a 10-3 record, the best record the school has seen in 43 years.
Coach Hooks transferred to Albertus Magnus College and helped the team make the playoffs for the first time in 10 years, finishing with a personal 7-2 record in singles.
He has taught at Slammer Tennis World, Stamford Parks and Rec and was Head Pro at Stamford Youth Tennis Academy. He currently works at Kings Hwy Tennis, and New Canaan Racquet Club.
Coach Hooks sits on the USTA Connecticut Board and was chosen to represent New England on the USTA National Diversity Immersion for Volunteer Engagement cohort.
